Dr Devaki Monani
Dr Devaki Monani teaches leadership in social policy and ethics, rights and social justice, in the discipline of Social Work at Charles Darwin University.
Committed to cultural diversity and understanding the immigrant experience, her research interests span across multicultural policy, comparative social policy, immigrant settlement and multicultural communities in regional Australia.
Devaki has conducted research consultations in regional areas with Afghani, Bhutanese, Hmong Burmese, Karen Burmese, Indian, Samoan, Papua New Guinea, Kirabathi, Somali, Sudanese, and Ethiopian communities.
She has published with Social Dialogue, Cosmopolitan Civil Societies: An Interdisciplinary journal and Farm Policy, and has also been interviewed by SBS bi-lingual in both Hindi and Gujarati on the topic of multicultural communities in regional Australia.
